Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a national series of 39-mile weekend fundraising events and is hosted in 9 major US cities: New York, Charlotte, Houston, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Rocky Mountains, San Franciscs, and Santa Barbara,
Funds raised are managed and distributed by the Avon Foundation. Grants are awarded to local, regional and national breast cancer organizations to support five areas of the breast cancer cause, including: awareness and education; screening and diagnosis; access to treatment; support services; and, scientific research.  Support for the medically underserved is a key priority.
Participating in an Avon Walk is an unforgettable experience.

Now that October Breast Cancer Awareness Month is here it is also a perfect time to think about your own health and take the steps for early detection.  October 21, 2011 is National Mammography Day if you haven't already take some time out and go make that appointment! Early dection can make a difference! So take action today. Get a mammogram. Have a clinical exam. Talk to your doctor. Be aware of changes in your body.  And encourage women you care about to do the same.
